Ohana Tattoo Company is the eastern anchor of the Waikiki network — a veteran-owned street shop on Saratoga Road that's open from 9 AM until midnight every day of the week. The model is old-school: walk in, pick something off the flash wall, sit down, walk out tattooed. It's also new-school: a roster of six resident artists each carrying their own specialty, a properly run booking system for custom work, and the consistent client experience that comes from a shop built around hospitality rather than ego.

The reviews back it up — 4.9 stars from 531 Google reviews at the time of writing, with a complaint rate close to zero. The shop has earned a particular reputation among Waikiki visitors who want a Hawaiian tattoo experience done right: clean studio, licensed artists, real composition help instead of "pick a font," military and kamaʻāina discounts honored without fanfare.

The roster

  • Forrest Goodrich — second-generation tattooer, 14 years on Oʻahu. American Traditional and fine-line specialist.
  • Dustin Gormley — American Traditional rooted in fundamentals, bent through a trippy perspective all his own.
  • Tiki (Christian Ramos) — blackwork specialist; bold negative space, dense saturation, Japanese-influenced B&G and dark-art portraits.
  • Julian (xwildxlovex) — illustrative color specialist; saturated florals, memorial script, watercolor washes.
  • Scripttoria — refined script lettering, fine-line black & grey, memorial work. NOLA roots.

The styles

Ohana covers — between the five artists in residence — every major style a Waikiki client is likely to ask for: American Traditional, Japanese Wabori, Black & Grey, Blackwork, Illustrative Color, Refined Script & Lettering, Memorial work, Cover-Ups, and the daily walk-in flash. The shop's specialties also include professional body piercing, with implant-grade titanium jewelry and sterile single-use equipment.

Piercing pricing is published and consistent:

  • Lobe — $60
  • Helix — $70
  • Nostril — $80
  • Septum — $90
  • Navel — $100
  • Nipple — $120
"Walk in or text ahead. Pick from the wall or send a custom idea. The chair is open."

The walk-in culture

Ohana built its reputation on walk-ins. The flash wall — hand-painted by the resident artists, refreshed regularly — is the entry point for most first-time clients. You walk in, you point, you sit down. The whole transaction can be done in an hour for a small piece, two hours for something larger.

For custom work, the walk-in posture stays the same: come by with your reference, talk it through with whichever artist's specialty matches your concept, and book a longer session for the actual tattoo. Most artists at Ohana have same-week availability for medium-sized custom pieces, and bookings out a few weeks for larger work.
